Nipple Plastic Surgery

A breast nipple may be inverted.

This may be caused by the fact that ducts (little tubules transporting milk from the gland to the nipple) are shorter than necessary. In other cases the inversion may be caused by duct inflammation. In rare cases the condition is caused by breast cancer.

The problem caused is not only aesthetic, but also functional, when it makes it impossible to breast feed. In this case, the correction is performed through tiny incisions at the base of the nipple. The aim is to release the ducts.
